Raad Al-Hatem Elects Director of the Samarra municipality

Mr. Hatem Al-Raad Mehdi elected on Tuesday  6-30-2009 as a new director of the Samarra municipality

a successor to engineer Nayef Saleh, former director who had been exposed to the removal of the Salahaddin province due to illegal practices and administrative corruption.
The election took place at 10:00 am Tuesday  morning to elect a new director at the city council  headquarters in the presence of most of the City Council members .

Four engineers Nominate  to fill the post of Director of the Samarra municipality according to the legal regulations to fill the position, namely
1. Engineer Khalid Aboud Saleh
2. Engineer Mohamed Ahmed Ibrahim
3. Engineer Mohammed Jamil Mahdi
4. Engineer Raad Hatem  Mehdi

After the conduct of the election, Engineer Raad Hatem won the post of Municipal Administrator unanimously.
 Mohammed Ahmed said the victory of Mr. Raad Hatem comes within the framework of the margin of democracy for all and the promotion of the role that everyone is seeking to establish in the city. Although I myself nominated for the post,but I unfortuently did not win .I feel  happy for the victory of Al-Raad that he is a competent and able to manage the municipal affairs in the present circumstances. We hope that he will work to develop the the city to  return as a center to attract a large tourist and religious at the national level.
  He added that the President of the City Council, Omar Mohammed Hassan  congratulated  the winner Raad Hatem and asked him to work hard and diligent to improve the municipal services that the city suffers as a result of deteriorating security, which the city was experienced before. Mr. Omar Mohamed  oversight the role played by the city council to correct many of the illegal practices of the past  to overcome a series of legal authorities in the city and to address the Supreme authorities without the knowledge of Council.
 Eng Mohammad Jamil said the city desperately needs to make great efforts for the rehabilitation of infrastructure, roads, schools and work to build housing complexes to accommodate the large population growth in the city and work to attract investment to the city in particular and the city suffers a great lack of residential units, hotels, restaurants and parking.
 Engineer Mohamed Jamil added  we have to  redouble our  efforts to complete the few projects available to the city, which still suffer from broken sewage network  as well as old water pipes in addition to paving  the streets and sidewalks.
