The city of Samara has abundant water resources. The sources of this water are the River Tigris and the Higher Zab, and the abundance of this water is sufficient for the development of agricultural projects and drinking water. It is noticeable, and according to the General Directorate of Dams and Reservoirs of the Ministry of Water Resources, there are comprehensive water policy for the management of water resources throughout Iraq, and there is a competent department in this regard,namely the General Directorate for the Management of Water Resources
