The population estimates in 2007 showed that the population of Samarrah district was about (205674) inhabitants; (104337) of them were males who made up (50.7%), and (101337) were females
However, when these age groups are classified into three age-categories, the first is the young age-category, which is between (0 - 14) years, we find at the level of Samarrah in 1997 that who fall under
this category make up about (46.4%), while the population in the age-category of (15 - 64) years makes up (49.9%), and the population of the third age-category of (65 years and over) makes up
(3.4%) of the total population of the city. The remained percentage of (0.3%) of the total population of
the city represents those people whose ages were not known (not shown).
