University of Samarra -
Dr. Abd Dhiab Al-Ajeeli the Higher Education Minister had lied the  foundation stone of the University of Applied Sciences of Samarra on 17 March 2009.he pointed out during  The ceremony that the preparation of the University of Samarra has been for years because of the need of Salahddin govern rate to a specialized University to take a aspect of the advancement of their research through scientific research and the accuracy that the achievement of progress and to keep up with development taking place in the world requires working in the higher education sector. He added that the development of  nations measured by assets and competencies of the scientific minds that would contribute to the process of construction and ages.
the University of Applied Sciences of Samarra will include six colleges. They are:
1. College of Education 
2. College of Islamic Sciences
3. College of Applied Science
4. College of Archeology
5. College of Agriculture
6. College of Veterinary
