Fawziyya Mahdi the Publishing director in the Iraqi  Studies and Research unit declared  in a statement that the World Heritage Committee of the Organization of the United Nations Educational, Science and Culture "UNESCO" has  approved at the31 regular meeting held in New Zealand the admittance of  the ancient city of Samarra, in the list of endangered World Heritage due to its global value view according to standards approved by the World Heritage Convention
The Ministry of archaeology & Tourism appreciated the decision. Abdul Zahra Talghani ministry spokesman quoted by Alsharqalawsat the newspaper as saying, the step will ensure the city's global sponsorship.
He added that the list includes nearly 851 archaeological sites all over the world have sponsored most of any global archaeological site to join this list has moved from local to global.  the city of Samarra has become one of  the global  cities such as the city of Babylon, which is famous throughout the world  it was among the cities that belong to the global list  but removed because of modifications made by the former regime of Saddam Hussein, who had made inaccurate maintenance , and there are talks now under way between the Ministry and UNESCO, among others, to bring it back  to the list of the new International list.
  Talghani assured  that the city of Samarra is considered as  one of the big Iraqi is cities and also from being the oldest and most important archaeological to contain a set of premises archaeological remains and monuments.  most of the archaeological sites ended and  eroded or buried but those of Samarra still remain despite the passage of more than 1200, including the Malwiyah , Alashiq Palace ,the mosque the shrine of two
 Askaris .
He added - according to the same source: - time passes ,but these parameters maintained its shape  which led the Commission to include the city to the  list.
Talghani pointed out that the accession of Samarra" means coverage of international expertise and financial support and technical expertise and maintenance of global, as is the case where the Mrkadin interested in maintenance UNESCO archaeological sites as well as being religious, there must be a world class maintenance operations carried out can not get out and must be conducted under international supervision. "
He said: "All the archaeological sites in Iraq, managed by our ministry and there is no any other local or international right to intervene or to conduct or carry out any work within these areas, however, our presence and our knowledge so singularly including international organizations, and we repeatedly asked the military forces get out of the cities archaeological and we were able to remove U.S. troops from the camp near the ruins of ancient Samarra, because the region is fragile and can bear heavy machinery and we have also taken off from the city of Babylon and the effects soon Snkrjha Or Dhi Qar in southern Iraq. "
Samarra was the capital of Iraq  after Baghdad Abasien, was built by Abbasid Mutasim in 221 to be the capital of their own. Mqamin was built in Samarra, where a Alimaman, X-Hadi, who died in 868, and his son Imam Hassan al-Askari, atheist, who died in 874.
